The Trevi Fountain. (Fontana Di Trevi)
This was the fountain that the song “Three coins in a fountain” was all about.
The central figure is of Neptune, god of the sea. He is riding a chariot in the shape of a shell, pulled by two sea horses. Pope Clement 12th commissioned Nicola Salvi to create a fountain in Piazza Trevi and this is it.
The fountain was completed in 1762
