Just one of the small canals that run through the town.

Volendam is a small seaside town located approx.15 miles north
of Amsterdam and is one of the area tourist attractions. During the
summer season, you can catch a boat ride over to the island of Marken.
The people of Volendam and Marken wear traditional Dutch dress for
the summer season. The telephone number for the Tourist Information office
in Volendam is 0299 36 37 47 and the country code for Holland is 0031.

The museum on the harbour side.

Ferry boats sail between Volendam and  Marken.

There is still a fishing  fleet in Volendam.

This guy sits here all year round and has had
his photograph taken with thousands of people.

On the way from Monnickendam to Volendam we came across this cheese and clog
making establishment. They do demonstrations of both processes and there is
also a shop where cheese and clogs can be purchased.

This windmill attracts the attention as you drive past.

They have all sizes for all feet.

There are many different patterns on the clogs.

Quite plain but still decorative.
